The IS09 Conference Fund for Interspeech 2017

The IS09 Conference Fund has been established by the organisers of Interspeech 2009 (Brighton) to support attendance at Interspeech conferences by research students and early career researchers working at universities in the UK and Ireland.

A number of IS09 bursaries of £600 will be available for Interspeech 2017 in Stockholm.

We regret that we cannot support attendance at satellite events at this time.

To be eligible for one of these bursaries, you must:

  1. be working at a university in the UK or Ireland as either:
    • a research student (PhD or MSc) of any age;
    • an 'early-career' researcher or academic (you entered the academic profession less than five years ago);
  2. have had a paper accepted for publication in Interspeech 2017.

Applicants who have been awarded grants from this fund or ISCA grants in previous years are also eligible to apply for an IS09 bursary. However, preference will be given to those who have not previously received funding from these sources.

How to Apply

Please email the following documents to Catherine Lai, :

  1. A completed application form. This is very similar to the ISCA/Interspeech application form.

  3. A letter of support (email is acceptable) from your supervisor (students) or the Director of your Laboratory (early-career researchers).
  4. A brief CV (three pages maximum) that includes a list of your other publications and details of other conferences, workshops that you have attended.
