Warning Notices

If there is any equipment being constructed or tested in a room for which you are responsible, and which contains something which could constitute a hazard, it is necessary, in the interests of the safety of cleaners, nightwatchmen and security staff, to display a warning notice on the door of that room. The nature of any hazard must be displayed on the notice. e.g. EQUIPMENT UNDER CONSTRUCTION. The appropriate notice boards and mounting fixtures can be obtained from Physics Stores. See your Divisional Safety Representative.

It must be pointed out clearly that we are responsible under the 1974 Act to ensure the safety of ANY individual who may come into the proximity of working machinery or equipment in operation - whether that individual is aware of the dangers or not.
