About me

My name is Fergus McInnes.  I live in Edinburgh and work at the University of Edinburgh.  My home page is here.  My academic background is in mathematics, and my work has been mainly on automatic speech recognition, dialogue systems and usability research.  I maintain the website of the Scottish Croquet Association.  (For more about croquet see my personal croquet pages.)  I also have a home page in MySpace (created August 2006), and one in Facebook (created November 2007), though I don't always update either of these very often.

This website, intended as a repository for my ideas about just about anything, is currently under construction (and probably will be for a long time!).  Comments are welcome - please email Fergus.McInnes@ed.ac.uk.
