Here are some free and legal mp3 downloads of songs that John Peel has featured on his Radio 1 show recently. All these tracks have been made made available by the bands or record labels themselves, they don't involve Napster or anonymous postings to alt.binaries.sounds or anything like that. The idea is that if you like the track, you'll buy some of their records, which seems pretty sound to me.

N.B. The list is now split into three: 2002-3 2001 2002 and earlier.

    Session Track1
    This was a track played by the band in session on the program, but the mp3 isn't the session version, it's the album version.
    Fotomoto - La Lune2
    This is one of the few tracks on the Fotomoto demo CD that John hasn't played yet, but since it's probably the only Fotomoto track you can get hold of anywhere, I thought it was worth including. John did recommend the whole CD in March's Record Box.
    Calexico - Ballad of Cable Hogue (French Version)3
    The English version was number 22 in the 2000 festive fifty - don't think John ever played the French version, but it fits in pretty well with the radio.plus theme. It's also reasonably wide...

    Almosy certainly part of the set Tarwater played live on the show on 27th October 1999. Absolutely definitely on the album "Animals, Suns and Atoms" that John Peel recommended in the May 2000 Record Box.
