About

Currently I am a staff member at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh. I work along with the commercialision department of the school to bring TriVault: a cloud-based data backup and restore solution to market. In addition to cloud-based backup, I also work on prototyping a cloud-based speaker-independent speech recognition platform using technology developed from AMI project.

In 2008 I finished my PhD at the Centre for Speech Technology Research. As its name suggests, people in CSTR do many interesting researches in speech processing, and my research at CSTR focuses on New Acoustic Models (Trajectory HMM in acoustic modelling), with Steve Renals being my supervisor, and Miles Osborne as my second supervisor.

My Hobbies

I am interested in computer and used to program a lot. In my spare time, I like writing programs. Some of them can make people's life in cyberspace easier, some are just written for fun. They can be found on my Software page.
