The UML/PEPA Bridge

UML/PEPA Bridge

This tool lets you automatically extract performance models specified in PEPA from UML activity diagrams and sequence diagrams.

Timing information is added through application of stereotypes from MARTE, the UML profile for Modeling and Analysis of Real-Time and Embedded Systems, under finalisation from the Object Management Group. For more about MARTE, visit http://www.omgmarte.org/.

The extracted model is run through the tool chain for PEPA powered by Eclipse to analyse steady-state performance measures such as throughput and utilisation.

Supported Plaftorms

The tool is designed as a plug-in for Rational Software Architect, a popular UML tool built on top of the Eclipse framework.

NEW! Alternatively, a plug-in is available for use in Eclipse SDK 3.2/3.3 with the UML2Tools project. As sequence diagrams are not supported by UML2Tools, the plug-in works only with activity diagrams.
