Hack your inbox: building alot for notmuch

In this very informal talk, will present the notmuch email indexer and talk about my experiences and involvement in this open-source project.

Notmuch is a library and command line utility that helps you organize your email without being intrusive. It provides a local search engine for your email database that comes with an intuitive query syntax. It is very easy to get attracted to, and start hacking on notmuch. Over time, an ecosystem of loosely related tools and scripts evolved around it.

Alot is an experimental mail user agent (MUA) that runs in your terminal. It tries to bring the benefits of both more traditional MUAs like mutt and Gmailesque search-based inbox. Alot is based on notmuch and written in python.
