Travel

Airport: If travelling by air, the closest airport is Edinburgh Airport (EDI), located approximately 12 km to the west of the city centre. Lothian Buses provides frequent bus connections between central Edinburgh and the airport on the Airlink 100 service, which takes approximately 30 minutes travel time. Other transportation options to/from the airport, including taxis, are also available.

Train stations: If travelling by train, Edinburgh's two main train stations are Waverley and Haymarket, which provide connections to most parts of the UK. Waverley station is the closest station to the Informatics Forum and is walkable; buses and taxis are also available. Haymarket station is located in the city's West End. The Informatics Forum can also be reached from Haymarket by bus, taxi, and walking.

Buses: Local bus service within Edinburgh is primarily provided by Lothian Buses.

Accommodation

There are many accommodation options available in the city centre, at various price points, within walking distance to the Informatics Forum. A partial list of accommodation options, prepared by the School of Informatics can be downloaded here.
