Partha Lal
PhD Student, supervised by Simon King.
I'm working on multilingual speech recognition, in particular, looking at how to transfer knowledge from large speech corpora in one language to a recogniser for another language with less existing speech data.
I made some slides giving a very brief overview of my work to a general Informatics graduate student audience at Firbush last October - they might be a helpful introduction. (The slides borrow a lot from Karen Livescu's Workshop slides).
