Welcome, I am Ana Costa e Silva.
Academically, I have recently completed a PHD at the Centre for Intelligent Systems and their Applications of the School of Informatics of the University of Edinburgh. Before Edinburgh, I completed a Masters in Business Administration in 1998 (Licenciatura) and a Masters of Science in Data Analysis and Decision Support Systems in 2003 (Mestrado) at the University of Porto's Faculty of Economics. After finishing my Masters thesis and until moving to Scotland, I was collaborating with the University of Porto's LIACC, specifically with the Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis Group (NIAAD).
Professionally, I was an auditor in Mexico for 9 months, an interviewer in Portugal for a year, and a statistician for 7 years at Banco de Portugal, which is the Portuguese Central Bank, and I now work for Edinburgh Partners as an investment research consultant. In fact, I worked at the Central Balance Sheet Data Office of the Statistics Departments of Banco de Portugal, the Portuguese Central Bank, since 1999 and until 2005, having been in sabbatical from that position until 2009.

Oh btw, my full name is Ana Cristina da Costa e Silva, so that's also me if you see it out there. My family in Portugal calls me Cadinha, but the Brazilian side of it calls me Cristina; in the past groups of friends have called me Tina, really not my favourite. Anyway, if in doubt after all this, Ana always works : D
