Currently working towards a PhD in Machine Learning and Computational Biology at The University of Edinburgh, supervised by Guido Sanguinetti (primary) and Jane Hillston (secondary). We look at Markov chain models with large state-spaces and aim to construct more efficient approximations for various behaviours observed in the original system. Typically we consider agent-based spatio-temporal biological models, e.g. SIR agents, or agents performing chemotaxis.

Prior to this, I studied Physics at Imperial College London (BSc) and Machine Learning at University College London (MSc). It seems that the road from physics to machine learning is one often travelled.

Other interests include art (drawing, painting) and reading, mostly fantasy, fiction and philosophy. These interests are regrettably not as well developed as one might hope.
