Scope of Workshop

The Workshop on Process Algebra and Stochastically Timed Activities is an informal meeting on the theme of modelling with stochastic process algebras (SPAs). These process algebras are used in performance modelling of computer and telecommunication systems and also in the verification of computer systems where the duration of activities is approximated by drawing from specified random distributions.

This workshop is devoted to all aspects of such process algebras and their use. Topics of interest include, among others,

The workshop will take place in the Newhaven Lecture Theatre, National e-Science Centre, 15 South College Street, Edinburgh on Thursday 12th June 2003. Workshop dinner

The workshop dinner is on the evening before the workshop itself, Wednesday 11th June. Dinner is at 8pm. There is no charge for the workshop dinner.

The workshop dinner is in Howies Restaurant, in a 200 year old Georgian building at 29 Waterloo Place. Waterloo Place is located at the East End of Edinburgh's famous Princes Street. This map (PS or PDF) shows both the workshop venue and the restaurant.

Attendance at the workshop is by invitation only. All members of the School of Informatics of the University of Edinburgh are invited to attend the talks given at the workshop. There is no workshop fee. Invited participants can now register for the workshop on-line.
