Jane Street Capital
Jane Street Capital is a proprietary trading firm involved in financial markets
around the world. We run a small, nimble operation where technology and trading are
highly integrated.
We use OCaml for all of our software development. This includes sophisticated statistical
research code operating over terabytes of data as well as real-time systems that demand
performance.
We have found that OCaml is advantageous on many fronts:
- it allows us to do rapid prototyping;
- our highest level executives can actually review many critical parts of the code,
because it is concise and readable;
- the type system allows us many static guarantees which are extremely important for
financial code; and
- we can hire better and more enthusiastic programmers.
We're always interested in hiring excellent functional programmers. For more information
