This project aims to build and explore an agent-based model of household energy demand, combining technical (appliances, heating, building fabric) and social (behavioural, cultural and economic) factors. There are many potential Ph.D projects to elaborate new components of the model.
Modeling the transition to a sustainable energy economy, using embodied energy as the primary concept. We are interested in models of regional (e.g., Scottish Highlands and Islands), national (e.g., UK or Iceland) economies, and an overall global model.
