PhD Positions: Machine Learning Algorithms and Their Properties

These positions are open to students in the broad area of algorthms related to Machine Learning. It will be suitable for students interested in one or more areas of:

The student applying for the project should have knowledge of one of the areas mentioned above, and interest in learning other areas. An interest in theory will be useful, as well as some experience of implementing and evaluating models in standard libraries.

The project will have an emphasis on metrics to evaluate data (data valuations), models(in federated learning) etc. The project is quite flexible, and the student will have a oppportunities to explore and research their own ideas and other related areas, such as Trustworthy ML (privacy, fairness and explainability), game theory, blockchains etc.
