Sharon Goldwater's web pages: accessibility statement
Accessibility statement and scope
This accessibility statement applies to http://homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk/sgwater/ and sub-pages within that domain. These pages are run by Sharon Goldwater and I'd like them to be accessible to as many people as possible. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate the website using just a keyboard
- navigate the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
I’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand, under the constraint that much of my research is highly specialized and my teaching and writing advice are aimed at University undergraduate and postgraduate students.

How accessible this website is
Some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- The purpose of some links cannot be determined from the immediate sentence context.
- Not all pages can be located in multiple ways.
- Not all PDF documents meet accessibility standards. I am seeking advice on how best to improve these.
