I'll adjust the lectures to the needs of the group, drawing on the
above much more discursive manuscript (which is a draft, not for
circulation}, in place of a handout.
Chapters 1 and/or 2 are suggested as preparatory
reading.
A possible sequence would be that the Five Lectures will correspond to Chs 2,
4, 7, 9 and 11--that is:
I: Chs.1-2: Categorial Grammar
II: Ch.4: Composition and Coordination
III: Ch.7: The Lexicalized Constructions
IV: Ch.9: Wh-Constructions
V: Chs.11-12: Symmetry and Asymmetry in Left- and Right-Extraction
