Teaching Activities

I represent UoE on the SICSA Education group. I often give presentations about my teaching practice: recent examples include two presentations at the SICSA Lessons from Lockdown event, and three presentations and a workshop at the UoE Learning and Teaching Conference.

I am Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and am currently working towards Principal Fellowship

Courses

I run the first-year course Inf1B: Object-Oriented Programming
I also run Informatics Connect, an optional first-year course that introduces first-year students to a range of philisophical and ethical issues in Informatics and to life as an Informatics student.
I'm a mentor on our Student-Led, Individually Created Courses (SLICCs), which allows our students to reflect on their own life experiences (for example, internships, volunteering positions, etc.) for academic credit.
