Guided Tour of Common Light Sources

Welcome. By following the course through the next few pages you will learn about the light sources commonly used today.

How can I find what I want?

First you should know a little about the structure of this tour. It is designed to be used like a booklet with a glossary. This page is the introduction. It is followed by a preface, a table of contents, the text pages, and a glossary.

After reading each page you will be presented with two choices. One is to proceed as if you were turning the page and the other is to return to the table of contents. From there you can jump immediately to each topic listed on the table of contents by clicking on the highlighted name.

This tour also has a glossary you can visit by clicking on highlighted words you see in the text of each page. You can also get to the glossary by choosing "Glossary" from the table of contents.

Two buttons of your client program may be helpful also. You can use the "back" function of your client program to move back one page or to return to your place when you look up a highlighted word in the glossary. This is like keeping your finger in the text while you look up a glossary entry. You can also use the "next" function to move to a page you have already seen but have left by using the "back" function. Your client program remembers where you have been in a history file and uses that information when you click "back" or "next."

Here are the two choices you will have on the pages of this tour.

To move forward like turning a page, click CONTINUE.

To proceed directly to the Table of Contents, click TABLE OF CONTENTS.
