If you will need a visa to visit the United Kingdom, please register and plan your travel as early as possible.

We do not issue formal invitation letters to the symposium. However, we can issue a visa support letter which describes the nature of the meeting. We only issue letters to participants who have already registered. However, if visa application fails we return the registration fee, less a cancellation charge of £20.

To apply for a visa support letter, please email milner-symposium@inf.ed.ac.uk with the following information.

• Your name, as it appears on your passport.
• Current institution address. We will not send support letters to private addresses.
• Registration confirmation number.

In some circumstances we may also ask for a letter of reference from a known researcher, or other confirmation of status.
