SpikeInterface news: Postdoc Position and Workshop (27/28 May 2024)

Spike in the sky

Workshop

Since its inception in 2018, the Spikeinterface project has been growing and evolving, with Alessio Buccino and Samuel Garcia at the helm both developing the project further and supporting the many contributors who have joined the project. Much of the original project planning and conception of the project happened during a workshop in Edinburgh in the summer of 2019, where we also received much valuable input from the community. We are therefore excited to announce a sequel event, a workshop on Tools and Methods for Next Generation Electrophysiology on the 27th and 28th of May 2024. The two-day event will be followed by a three-day hackathon.

Postdoc Position

Furthermore, we are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to develop new machine learning approaches for the analysis of large-scale extracellular recordings. The position is part of a wider effort in my group and collaborators to enable new discoveries with state-of-the-art electrode arrays and recording devices. It is based in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, and will be jointly supervised by myself and Matt Nolan (Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences). It offers a fantastic opportunity to work with theoretical and experimental neuroscientists. Edinburgh had a vibrant neuroscience community including computational neuroscience, and it is a great place to live.
