Deformations

 

Deformations of the template mesh can be topological or geometric. Topological operations are such that they modify the adjacency graph. These include addition or removal of mexels from the mesh and changing of the genus of the underlying surface. Geometric operations move mexels to different positions without changing adjacency relations between them. Here we shall consider only geometric deformations, for more details on topological deformations, see [4], [8] and [1]. There are two ways to implement geometrical operations:
